Women in technical leadership

6 Modules · 12 Weeks · Cohort of 12 · For women & non-binary folks in tech · Next cohort 3rd September 2026

Hard work was never the whole plan.

Promotion ladders are losing rungs, AI is redefining which work gets valued, and "they'll notice you eventually" was always a myth. This program gives high-performing women and non-binary technologists the other half of the plan: strategy, sponsors, visibility, and a cohort who gets it.

Why strategy beats waiting

Fewer rungs, same broken one

For every 100 men promoted into first management roles, around 87 women are, and fewer still for women of colour. Flatter orgs mean fewer promotions overall, so every one is more contested. Waiting to be noticed is not a plan.

The glue-work trap just got riskier

The essential-but-unpromotable work, like onboarding, unblocking and holding the team together, still lands unevenly. As AI absorbs routine delivery work, what counts as "promotable" is being redefined. You want a deliberate say in your mix.

The AI rooms are being filled now

Women hold roughly a quarter of AI roles. The decisions shaping the next decade of your organisation are being made in rooms you should be in, and visibility and influence get you there.

The modules

Six modules over 12 weeks: the program as it's actually delivered, built on frameworks most leadership courses don't teach: glue work, sponsors vs mentors, the career jungle gym.

Module 01

Career Development & Growth

Your career plan: where you are (strengths and gaps), where you're going, how you'll get there. The career jungle gym, sustainable pace, and choosing your glue work deliberately.

Module 02

Influence & Authority

How organisations really work. Building influence and visibility; sponsors vs mentors vs trusted peers, and how to get each one working for you.

Module 03

Team & Culture

Building psychologically safe, high-performing, inclusive teams, and leading them credibly.

Module 04

Communication & Feedback

Speaking to be heard, feedback that builds trust, and holding your ground in rooms that talk over you.

Module 05

Strategy & Planning

Building and communicating strategy, trade-offs and risks: the work that gets you seen as a leader, not just a strong contributor.

Module 06

Your Next 12 Months

Everything converges into a concrete 12-month action plan: goals, sponsors, visibility moves, and the support you'll need to keep growing.

A strategy on paper, not just inspiration.

A sponsor / mentor / peer map, with a plan to build what's missing

A visibility strategy that doesn't require becoming someone else

A 12-month action plan, pressure-tested by your cohort

The cohort is the point

You'll work your real situations with 12 women and non-binary technologists at your career stage: the sounding-board network most of us never get handed. Leadership gets lonelier as you rise; this is the room that comes with you.

Kaleida's co-founder also co-founded Tech Leading Ladies, and the community outlives the course.

From the program itself

"The best DEI work you can do early in your career is to be a strong performer and be promoted."

This program is unapologetically about your success: strategy over sentiment.

Why Kaleida?

Our programs are practical, research-backed, and designed by leaders who've been in the trenches, creating learning experiences participants say they "miss when they're over."

We specialise in technical leadership, helping engineers, product managers, and delivery professionals transition into confident, capable leaders. We believe leadership is a social skill, so we teach it socially.

Live, Facilitated Cohorts
